Inclusion in Dance


The Dance Curriculum Toolkit is an array of resources that can be utilized to maintian a safe and inclusive dance classroom in a K-12 school system. I hope to build a strong community in my classroom that can help prepare students for the real world with support and self-expression. Dance serves as a way to bring people together, and I hope to do that with my students.  

This Differentiated Unit Plan was created in collaboration with three other education students and focused on creating an inclusive environment for students with autism, cataracts, and dyslexia in a dance classroom. The co-teachers in this scenario accommodate the individual needs of the students, offer opportunities to self-monitor behavior and achievement, and guide students to understanding the Effort Qualities in Laban Movement Analysis.
